    Re: Fuel starvation

Yea just tried that Wingnut the fuel from the tank is flowing free (both sides of the pump are disconnected at the mo). I think that is what has happened when the fuel gets below the carbs it cuts out because it will tickover no problem with a full tank, i just dont want my tank to have a permanent 90 mile range lol

This issue had my head melted and I asked the lads here last Thursday if the pump could be bypassed and I got a firm yes, took the bike out and half way out bike died , disconnected pump and just on the last of the battery bike fired up , Only cost me £10 for the subscription , best tenner Ive spent in a long while.

Mines a carlsberg by the way.

Its only a pint of beer not a pint of blood. , when a bike breaks down , its usually in the rain and your miles from home and you start to over heat in the jacket and .......theres nothing worse.

Search fuel pump and get the skinny on the good stuff.

Later mate , tell you what friday night buy your self an extra pint and drink it for me , yee Barrow boys.....

    Re: Fuel starvation

Have you tried anything else yet Mike? Loads of us on here unfortunately have fuel pump problems from time to time and any advice may help in the future

Have you measured how much is actually coming out of the pump and are you sure the breather pipes aren't trapped for the tank?

    Re: Fuel starvation

OK just done that (as above) I fitted the new fuel filter, drained the tank and left a little in the bottom (about 1/4 pint) fired her up with the valve on "ON" and just as it was about to cut out I could hear the pump tapping away nicely (so thats working) switched it to reserve and the bike just ran smooth as normal, so that seems to have cured my problem. But just as a check i poured a small amount of fuel through the old filter and this did not seem blocked at all, I just cant understand what happened.

    Anyway thanks for everyones advice

    Mike
