    04 to 07a choke parts

Anyone know where I might be able to track down a suitable choke plunger housing – that little black plastic elbow and threaded nut which guides the cable into the block ?
I have seen them for sale with a cable for an RD04 as whole set for about £40!! –

Dont know for certain that the part from the 04 will fit my 07a and cant see me spending a full on £40 for a cable I dont want !
    Any pointers?
Or anyone want to share the cost of a new cable for their 04?

After finding it broken I tapped the remaining plastic thread out and im currently using an adapted bicycle brake adjuster which I cut down to size. This is fine but its just not working quite like it should, and bar entering it to bodgers corner I would be alot happier to get a genuine part!!

    cheers peeps

As far as I know, those bits are NOT available separately unfortunately.

Also, I'm not sure the captive screw thing at the choke end is the same between the 04 and 07 bikes.

    Sorry!

Push the plunger all the way in and find a screw to fit that keeps it there then you have choke off - you don't need it on both cylinders - mines been like that for ages - runs much better now cos it was sticking before

The AT plungers stick into the body and as you try and remove them the cable breaks!
Take your time its an expensive break and WD40 is very cheap to use to free the plunger

If you find the spring broken use one from a biro

right-o chaps thanks for all that. Looks like I may have to go Wemoto if I want to be genuine, or just seek to refine the existing bodge – which is fine – she always starts! Will nip into the local bicycle repair man when I get a mo and see what similar items (hopefully a bit cheaper) he may have as an ideal alternative.

Keep u posted. cheers < PS: wot is going on here?
