Pillion Step bar , pin step bar Joint

Title of new thread comes from the good book page 44 (XRV750 N.pdf).

Getting components ready for powder coating . Noticed that the Pillion Step on both of the holders have rattled the the hole that the step bar joint pin goes into . OK if I get a new pin it will be to small for the hole . The rattling around has made the hole bigger . Just want to know would it be right to find a bit of rod that matches the hole on the step frame and then drill out the peg (pillion step bar) to match?

    Links or pics would help

A new larger gauge clevis pin would be best (I think)

If you have access to welding equipment, you could just carefully add weld material around the enlarged hole, then re-drill it to the correct size.
