    Side stand switch bypass

I have a quick AT question that I cannot find the answer to using search.
I would like to disable the side stand switch like many other people. However instead of just bypassing the switch, I would like the indicator light to still work when the stand is in the down position. So in essence I would need to trace the wires up to where they perform their cut off duty, and bypass it there. Would appreciate any help.

Leave the switch in place and short the green wire to the yellow/green. Don't touch the pink wire. That will make sure the indicator still works but the actual cutout is bypassed.

Those should be the right colours. Any problems then report back

    Re: Side stand switch bypass

    Thanks AlanH !!!
Just finished it, works perfectly. Side stand light works correctly, yet it will now start in either the up or down position. Tapping the green to green/white is correct. However on an RDO7A the third wire is a yellow black which is left alone. I pulled the side cover off, and tapped the two wires together just below the plastic plug. I just stripped the wires slightly for quarter inch in the middle, and then soldered a wire across each of them.
Then taped it all up, looks like new again. I never use those goofy wire taps made of plastic. Easy to use, but eventually cut the wire.
Now just need to remember to put the kickstand up when I ride off.........

I didn't realise the RD07A had a different wire colours for the warning light. I was basing the info on the RD04.

Top result. I might do that on my CRM too

Sounds good.I remember my GT750 Kawasaki would go along the road coughing and farting with the sidestand light flashing even though the stand was up.
