Put it this way. If you do sell it and then decide you've made a mistake, you'll spend ages looking for another one.

you are right, i know it would be a mistake, i'm going to restore the old girl, don't really care to much for the GS, KTM or any other adventure bike, RD04's are a dying breed. my minds made up...i'm hibernating her for the winter and planing my final objective

Good choice, the other bikes are plentiful.
the RD04 is a bike that should be in a museum.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Nope, it's a bike that should be ridden.

The museum I work in has a nice line up of old bikes, none of which has even been on display (as far as I know, ever). If we got an RD04 here it would be a waste.....except when I'm riding up and down the grounds on it of course. Great idea!

My two penneth - you're doing the right thing going the restoration route. I plan something similar for my RD07, though it obviously doesn't have quite the same class as an RD04 (let alone an RD03)....
