The RD04 in my opinion was the better of the bunch. Honda refined the @T, well, that's in their opinion! I think they took the bite out of it.
The RD07 is a damned fine bike but I didn't think they had the same grunt as my RD04, also the suspension was better and more adjustable on the RD04.
Powersliding my RD04 on forest tracks in 3rd gear at over 50mph was absolutely astounding! RD07 I found more sedate. More refined? Perhaps.

It just seems to be a nicer all round bike to ride and I personally found mine to be quicker than the two RD07s I've had since. I also think it's the best looking AT.
The 04 is more top heavy and harder to work on though. I got rid of mine when I was doing so much mileage the servicing was coming round more quickly than usual.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.
1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!
