A new AfricanQueens AT bought on e-bay

    Hi,
Came over this on e-bay in Germany and just had to bid....and got it

This time an 1995 AfricanQueens built and engine modified (in April 2006 with 26899 km on the counter)) with STF Stage 1 tuning ( Strutzenberger in Austria) http://www.stf.at
    http://tinyurl.com/yk4yy2n.

With Strutzenberger's airbox modifications, carburators, engine modifications and the STF -FHR Racing exhaust it gives this perfomance:
Link to STF's Tuning kits: http://www.stf.at/Pages/Detail/Tunin...itauswahl.html

The Dyno tests power on rear wheel:
    Original: 50,1
    Now: 69,7

    UP by 39%

    Torque:
    Original: 55,6 Nm
    Now: 73,3 Nm

    Up by 31,8%

35000 km's on the counter now and 2 former owners.

I have also found and bought a set of 2x10 litres rear tanks (AQ's Africa Twin Forte: http://tiny.cc/AQAT ) and suitable exhaust system made by AQ on ebay...but have not decided on which AT they will be mounted on.

If it's not a rude question, how much did it cost you? That is a lovely bike!
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

    Nice, very nice.
    I hate you.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

    Are you planning on collecting?

Just curious as I'm polishing my cricket bat

serious though, I'm on the safehouse list if you need help, a bit away from the direct route though.
That will make a great ride home but I would be tempted to use freight

Re: A new AfricanQueens AT bought on e-bay

Thanks for the nice remarks all ...

NO, I 'm not collecting them, but the youngest son has just turned 18 and got his lisence for a medium powered bike.
He has by now ridden approx. 70000...seventy thousand ....km since he got his first bike....and did all ..less 2 ...Alpenpasses over 2000 meters height with a friend and myself this summer....roughly 155 passes all together and 7900 km in 4 weeks riding up to 14 hours a day and only one day total off riding on the whole tour....
He will sell all 3 of his bikes and get the white AT to use.... he has now a 180 ccm tuned Varadero, a 600 TA and a XT350....so a good clean-up in the garage .

And price I paid for the new AT?...well I'm very happy with it

    Regards
    Arf
