The same bike when I've find it 1 year ago (nobody knew (except me) it was a marathon. I had doubts when I saw the chain guide !)

Did not the seller know that he was selling a Marathon?
I wish I could find a Marathon myself

Some news of my marathon(s)
The first one (No 146 in 1989) is coming slowly to be finish...



The second one (No. 153 Dakar 89) should be back to the Dakar version in 2011... if all goes well






The third one will stay in original version for the moment




The last will be probably a bank of pieces...

Nice!! Inspiration for me to work on mine, although it is currently -20C here, so watching the Dakar on Eurosport is as close to riding as I'll get...

Still cannot track down decal set from anyone....

In the meantime some new "movements" here in Italy too, 3 Marathon have changed owner. This one below was the newest I ever saw, just 1000 km on it, prepared for the Dakar by Roberto Boano, but the owner had some health problems and layed in his garage till a couple of months ago. I couldn't afford to buy it and so passed the chance to a dear friend, Patrizia, who has a lot of passion for this kind of bikes, rally-raids and Africa


Hope to show the other ones too. Hopefully also the yellow Camel Gualini's one will have a new life this year. In the meantime please have all my bst wishes for a beautiful 2011
