Re: How long should original brake discs last?
I have found that fronts warp within about 50k miles but don't seem to wear too much. Rear starts to interest the MOT bloke at about 90k miles but I did manage about 110k miles before he cried enough and I replaced it with an EBC.
The EBC rear disc was okay (about 50 or 60 quid), the EBC fronts I found to be rubbish, only acting like decoration when trying to stop in the wet, especially with their recommended brake pads. I prefer the warping to the EBC fronts on my current bike (90k), it's more predictable.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.
1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!
