Speeding blinker and a lazy gas ...

Ok, that was a cryptic title, due to bad english translation

I have 2 odd things going on my rd07. My right blinker sometime blink twice as fast as normal. Sometimes the bulb doesn't even come one. The left one is always ok ... Is this due to a nearly dead bulb, or could it be the wiring somewhere?

Second odd thing is that when the bike is cold, the gas is tight and responsive. It starts revving within the first few milimeters of turning, and snaps back well. When it get warm after maybe 20 min of driving, the gas gets a slack of about 1-1,5 cm turning, before it revs.

    What's going on??

    Cheers guys!

    /Thomas

    Hi,
The problem you described with the blinker is about the same I have when I've cleaned the bike with a waterhoze. The blinking problem goes away after a ride of 20 min. I don't exactly what it is, but maybe it's a lead.

The fast blink rate could be due to a corroded connection.
The throttle problem could also be due to corrosion. try oil on the throttle cables, also check the linkage at the carbs.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Sounds like he means the actual engine is slow to pick up revs once it's hot.

Would that mean it's running too rich? Maybe a dirty air filter, dodgy fuel or worn out spark plugs. Just guessing I'm afraid.

Ah, sorry Chronyx, I didn't explain that very well, I'm afraid

I meant like regular slack in the cable, like the cable is too long, and there's no 'resistance' the first 1-2 cm of turning the throttle.

Also my idle varies quite a bit ... when cold, it's less than 1000 and when hot, it climbs to 1500+. Is this normal? Is it related?

Stumpyfingers: I'll give that a go this weekend! Thanks mate!

    Cheers guys!!

How strange! Must be one of the throttle cables getting stickier as it gets hotter.

There are two throttle cables on the A.T. and when I was putting mine back together I vaguely remember turning the throttle mechanism with one cable, and it acting similarly.
