Just noticed that Rd04 engine is on my Rd07 AT.. Question

    Hi,

I have bought AT this summer (after BMW I had) and finally my dream was in my garage (not knowing much about the types of engines, etc.. my mistake). Since we are planning trip for next summer (around the world - The Ride Around 2010 - …………. Put oko svijeta 2010!), I have started preparing the bike and then noticed following:

My frame number is RD073200... but my engine number is RD04E35.... Now, I am a bit worried (should I be?). Engine is working perfectly, but this means that I have to buy spares for RD04 engine, right?

And the final one, this probably means that previous engine was finished and someone changed it?

    Thanks,
    Vlada

Re: Just onitced that Rd04 engine is on my Rd07 AT.. Question

    My bike is a 2003 RD07 with a Vin number of JH2RD07A8Y*******

    Engine number RD04E2******

    So it seems OK

This is my first post after joining your community and I hope it's been a helpful one.

Only had my bike a couple of weeks but I've wanted one for a while. Busy making it really new again.

Had a lovely holiday in your beautiful country a couple of years ago with my BMW 1200 GSA (just missed the Rolling Stones). I will go back again in the future.

    This is definitely true.

Order spare parts based on the code label under the seat, i.e. XRV750Y
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!
