OE Honda from DSS- £102ish
EBC pattern from Wemoto - £38ish with 25% discount
Is it worth splashing for the Honda disc? Anyone tried any other alternative / pattern discs?
Cheers

Just noticed this from Yen in another thread:
The EBC rear disc was okay (about 50 or 60 quid), the EBC fronts I found to be rubbish, only acting like decoration when trying to stop in the wet, especially with their recommended brake pads. I prefer the warping to the EBC fronts on my current bike (90k), it's more predictable.
Sounds like the EBC disc might not be the best option...
Braking seem to do a front disc for around £90:
Braking
I read a website where the guy went through two aftermarket discs in a short time and finally just got the Honda disc. Lesson learned was just stick to Honda, and if it costs a bit more it is worth it.
There are places where it's ok to save a few bucks, but with brakes my belief is don't try and scrimp.
Thanks Jim,
I'm mostly in agreement having tried a few different pattern parts in the past and found them poor substitutes. With some parts though I can't help wondering if you're just paying more for the Honda badge. There are clearly some budget pattern manufacturers and then there are companies like Brembo who are perhaps better in some way.
Anyway, have found some Grimeca options but may well end up with OE parts; at least on the front, the rear disc has been deleted by Honda.
Cheers
Thanks Stumpy,
I think that the Transalp disc is different at the front but the same at the back as the AT.
Nice lady at Talon can get me some Braking discs for £60ish plus VAT (front and back) so at least I can get rear discs, just need to decide what to do at the front!
