As it happens I may be looking at parting with my '95 30000 ish miler within your budget. I've just subscribed so I can place a for sale ad .... (only thing holding me back is still not sure if I really want it to go though - mind changes every hour and it's not as if I could easily get another should I have regrets in the future!)

    Hi,
not sure if he was aware of it, but bike was advertised with new chain and sprocket. The member who wasnt the owner of the bike was selling it for a friend..and i have been speaking to a friend of the member this morning, and he sad that he's really peed of with it all..due to the fact it he helpped sell the bike..

If it was me, and i truly didnt know about the sprocket spline, i would hand on heart offer some of the money back to help with repair. And if i did know about, well i couldnt look myself in the mirror each morning..

My mate who bought the bike is a real decent straight bloke, isnt the confrontational type, and hasnt pushed the issue..just think its a shame..if was me he would have had the bike back straight away..

    Hi,
Sorry for stealing a thread, but i have the same intention as in the heading. I'm currently a NX 650 guy, but am planning on upgrading to my dream bike . I've received a £1900 offer on a 1998 AT with 51000km on it. It looks awfully shabby, but compared to other ads found here in Estonia and nearby countries, it seems cheapish enough (as few come around for sale anyway). The owner said its "mechanically in ideal condition", I'm yet awaiting his answer what in particular he meant. What do you guys think of it, should I be charmed or alarmed by that price?
    Thanks!

It's obviously been on the floor a time or two, but cosmetics can be fixed easily. Can't tell if rear wheel rim is corroded or just dirty.
Most important is engine, does it run smoothly and quietly.
Check the gearbox shaft splines where the sprocket fit's, it only takes a few minutes to remove gear lever and cover, then remove two 6mm bolts and keeper plate from sprocket and pull sprocket toward you to see splines behind. (8mm + 10mm sockets +short extension bar needed).
As for price, due to cosmetic's it would seem a little too high for england, but prices in your country i can't comment on.
