The fuel pump connects to the pipes below (Just above the red 'R' on the rocker cover)![]()
Is the pic in this link any good to you - ATiC - Honda Africa Twin Homepage. The article is about changing the ventilation tubes from the carbs on an RD07 to match those on an RD07a but it might help.
Blimey that's a find and a half! I'll print that and take it out to the garage when I'm out there next. Thanks!

Hi Chronyx
I've been through my pics but none of the others are going to be of any help, but looking at your photo, what is the pipe that daigonally crosses the rear rocker cover close to the left hand rocker cover bolt and disappears between the carbs? Is it just a fuel tank breather pipe that happens to be lying there, as I can't see what else it could be, except possibly the fuel tank breather pipe that clips into the clip located on the frame crosspiece under the front of the seat.
I presume yours is an RD07a as the carbs have the throttle position sensor. I've attached a photo of a pair of new carbs, currently sitting on the table in front of me, and there are only 5 pipe connections, the 2 grey fuel feed pipes, the 2 drains on the bottoms of the bowls, and the central plastic T piece. Obviously the fuel feeds come from the fuel pump, and the other 3 all feed into the same drain which I previously mentioned.
The only other pipes in the area are the the big bore breather from the rear rocker cover to the airbox, and the coolant pipes. Other than those the only other pipes you should be left with are the two that attach to the fuel tank.
Is this any more help?
Thanks Chris - yes I'm pretty sure that is just a breather
So that central plastic T piece in between the carbs is just a drain then?
I wasn't sure if it was a bit more sophisticated like a vacuum hose!
Yes, it's nothing more than a drain, I imagine to catch and pipe away any possible fuel spillage if the bike goes over. If you have fuel in the float bowls and tip the carbs up, as if the baike is on its side, fuel will run out through the black plastic drain pipe. Basically its a safety feature, and I think its may also be there to capture and pipe away any fuel vapour from the carbs.
Thanks a lot. I would PM you but my subby expired! Have you got a PayPal account?
