RD04 / RD07 Rear Shock Compatibility

Hi guys,

I'm sorry if this has been answered already, but I have looked through many previous post and couldn't find a definitive answer. Basically, my RD04 failed its MOT as the rear shock has inadequate damping, I cannot afford a new one so I'll either have to get mine reconditioned or find a second hand one. According to Haynes, the RD07 (standard: 245.5mm) has a greater free spring length than the RD04 (standard: 238 - 241mm). There are a couple of RD07 shocks currently on ebay and I was wondering if the increased length makes them incompatible with the RD04 ?

interchangeable. But RD07 misses out the adjuster screw.

Hey , sorry i am about to ask a bone question , just got my very first xrv a T reg but i am strugling to find out what the dif is between RD04 and 7?
