Yes - I removed mine when I still lived in Portsmouth and if you want it it's probably still in the drain I threw it down in Cleveland Road . But wait - you obviously did the sensible thing and binned it too! Why did Honda bother....?

The white thingy is a b**ch to install "correctly", afair lower cable tends to slip but will not hinder installation, just jam & eat at the guide. Once correctly installed, the throttle was snappy for me too (was tight when bought from previous owner).
Hello, I bought my '97 AT a couple of months ago and always found the throttle a bit stuck, compared to my CBR600.
Can anyone provide a photo of that "white thing in the throttle grip"?!
It seems so simple that I'm not figuring out what that is.
Sure will try without it as soon as I identify it.
Thank you and Best Regards from Portugal!

Here you go Cabrita..
The larger of the two is off the AT and the smaller is off my XR250. Same design on both bikes just a difference in size. Best place for them in in the bin.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Mike
Growing old is inevitable... Growing up is optional
Hi,
Could not resist after these posts and have just returned from my garage where I've removed the "white thing in the throttle grip" of my AT.
It is now much much better, even with the handle bar in full lock it is not sticky - it was locking in this position before!
Thank you for the simple yet very useful tip!
