    Cracked sump guard fasteners

    How have you fixed those?

    Fix those weak old ones?
Weld new solid one straight to frame?
Make new one wich has fastener going around frame tube?
    Something else?

Weld a solid bar to the frame

Same problem on my bike.. don't know how to weld so going to make a bracket then U bolt it to the frame... will work and be secure but won'tbe as tidy as a welded on bracket.. but then again you'll never realy see it anyways.

I think I'll weld a new one. That area needs anyway some tiding an repainting.
Is it enough if I detach wires from battery or should cdi connectors also open before welding? When welding a car, I have detached only battery, no problems at all.

Disconnect the battery, CDI unit, and the Reg/Rec - just to be safe
