    Re: Crash Bars

    Hello MJK !!!
    Thank you very very much!
That was exactly what I needed : photos !

On the wemoto site have one photo...
BUT, directly from the SW-Motech these crashbar is cheaper
(Crashbar. Black. HONDA XRV 750 Africa Twin. - Crashbar. Black. HONDA XRV 750 Africa Twin. - SW-MOTECH & BAGS-CONNECTION)
    144,95 EUR (£ 121) and in the Wemoto I will pay £ 142,00.

If I get the Givi below £ 97 so I will choose the Givi, otherwise I will get the sw-motech.
Both are very similary, no ?!

    THank you !!!

I have GIVI ones, read back through this thread, £71. Note...the GIVI bars bend when the bike is dropped. My bikes been down a lot. The bars take the force but do bend inwards. Everytime it goes down I have to get a large piece of wood (an axe handle) and bend the bars back into shape. If you can put up with this then the GIVI bars are a great buy for £71.

Dont know if other people have problem with different makes of crash bars bending when dropped?

I thought that Givi was good. The Beddowsm said "Good solid bars. They dont get in the way, even though they are attached to the footpeg.
" so will decide. The price of Givi is half of the SW-Motech... but I'm still accepting suggestions. As I ride little the Givi might be a reasonable option.

If the bike go down (when parked for exemple), does the Givi can bend ?
If yes so I will consider the SW-Motech.

I did say that....but that was before I tested them. They are "good Solid bars", dont get me wrong. But my bike has been down several times (all low speed, eg stationary to walking pace) and at least 50% of the time the bars bent towards the fairing.

Will be good to hear other peoples experience on this with different makes of crash bars.

You have to weight up the cost against how many times you aim on dropping the bike. I mainly do trail riding on my bike so I expect it to get dropped (Im averaging twice per outing now...crap rider I think...or if you are reading this when I come to sell my bike...its never been off road ...honest!). In hindsight the SW ones may have been better for me. But Im a Yorkshore man - and £71 was too good to give up. And they do the job of protecting the fairing.

    Re: Crash Bars

Givi bending is good -it means the places it is attached does not bend! I remember physics in school and stuff about releasing energy.

Think about it - old cars were solid and in a crash bent the chassis new cars crumple to dissipate the forces - may be the Givis do the same.

I have Givis - bought because at the Tim M&P were selling them for £65 - I can live with bends for that price. I have noticed that they get surface rust easily so will end up spraying them - my advice would be spray then with Hamerite paint before fitting. They look good I think.

I do like that headlight grill - anyone made one?
2000 Black and Gold with MRA Screen, Motad Venon Exhaust + Custom Stainless Ankle Guard, Bagster Tank Cover, Dash Clock Cover + 12V, Facet Fuel Pump, Givi Crash Bars, Givi Pannier Rack (Modified for Stahlkoffers), Givi Top Box, Stahlkoffer Panniers, Pro. Mod. Seat, CR Footpegs, Michelin Anakee 2 Tyres, Sat Nav., Hel Stainless Brake Hoses, K&N, Headlamp Mesh - oh! yes. Huge Nut attached to Handle Bars

    Thanks folks!
I think that Angelo is right. Extra rigid crashbar can damage the frame. The crashbar need to be like a car bumper, no?!

    Re: Crash Bars

WINCH ? got a landrover then ? You'd rip the front off the AT !!!!

Take a look at the RICKY CROSS website ( italian) they mount to the upper tubular frame and the lower crash bars, you have to re locate the front indicators and they are very good
    But a Winch ??

This was a picture of my old bike ( sold 3yrs ago)

    http://www.rikycross.it/

    this might help

Its only a small hand winch - just an idea at this stage to save me from events such as....
    Dont go Solo

Surely, if its attached somehow to the frame then it may / should work. Only one way to find out I suppose and thats to test it.
