Re: clutch makes funny noises on deceleration

Jut to revive this tread a little.

I ordered a new clutch pressure plate because there were quite deep indents into the posts on the existing one and on taking the basket off found the oil pump chain to be a little 'slack'.. It it supposed to have a certain level of movement? Does anybody know the amount of play there should be in this chain? I don't want to rebuild the clutch only to find I have to strip it all back down again?

    Cheers

I would bite the bullet and buy from Honda, it might seem to cost more but at least you will be certain to get the correct fitting one.

If you are unsure about the chain then replace it while you have access to it. Better than having to go though the hassle again later.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE
