    Bagster hooks

    Hi

Just bought a second hand bagster (baglux?) tank cover for my AT.
Noticed that the lowest hooks/straps wont grip properly.
They hold the cover but could have been better.

My tank has a black plastic protection strip on the lower part where the hook is supposed to grip.

In front of the tank theres no strip and the front hooks grabs just fine.
Do you take this strip off or is it ok to just leave it in place?

Mine's the same and I think they all are

I have not removed any of the rubber strip from the bottom of the tank and the cover fits fine

I have also not fitted the cover using the airfilter strips underneath because I done leave the cover on all the time

Forgot to say, when you are fitting for the first time, warm it up in a dryer for a few minutes so that it will mould to the shape easily. Leave the bike in the sun or warm atmosphere and then recheck the tightness of the cover and shape of the fuel whole

    Job done

It's a flap of material underneath inside the cover near the whole for the fuel cap that the rear air filter screws go through to hold it in line. This is fine if you're leaving it on forever but a real pain if not

    Re: Bagster hooks

I warmed the lower hooks up and eased them just a little they fit better but not perfect - never come off in 20k miles so ok

it's a useful thing as it saves the tank looks good and you can attach things to it.

I don't understand this air filter thing! Mine just covers the whole tank except for a hole for the fuel filler - there is a sort of hump bit that covers the air filter cover. Is yours different - how about a photo?

What you're looking at is right from the outside and the tank cover goes over the air filter cover in the hump kind of thing.

The flap is inside the bagster cover. I think you fold it inside out you will see the flap ( same width as the plastic air filter cover x about 30mm) and you then take the airfilter plastic cover off, locate the flap at the back end near the actual filler cap, replace the plastic filter cover and put the screws back in. Then you can fold the bagster cover back round the tank.

I expect it's there to keep the cover the correct position so it does not go out of shape around the filler cap

    Sorry no pictures

    Hope it helps
