Hi there!
Can somebody tell me if a exhaust built for a AT 750 can be use on my RD03 650?
Don't seem to find a replacement for mine....
Could it work? or Can it damage my engine?
Please help!
Enrique!

Enrique!
I posted a similar thread week before...as I ordered LV evolution for my RD7 A and the distributor as an interim solution offered me an original TA 700Cc can. I had the same concerns and here is what I got for an answer.
Actually ur case is different though considering ur tube is actually engineered for a greater volume engine and applied on a smaller engine.
Re: A temporary fix: Ta 700cc can on rd07 a
I thought I'd get in first with the standard answer, You'll need to dyno it, or try a colortune.
Basically it could make the engine run weak which can burn out valves.
Chances are, it is more restrictive. Therefore, causing no damage, but strangling your engine's power, hence the need for a dyno run and possibly smaller main jets.
You could suck it and see. Take it for a ride and do a plug chop.
That is, ride at full throttle for a short way, pull in the clutch, kill the engine, then check plugs for colour; not easy access on Trannies, not sure about ATs.
Is it a full system you are replacing or just an end can/silencer? After market silencers are still available. I think it is Marving that make them.
Actually what I need to replace is only the silencer...I think it could work because I'll be using the exhaust of a bigger bike right? I'm worried about the valves....
The XRV650 is sensitive when it comes to silencers.
If you install a very free flowing end can, you would do well if you also follow up with a proper rejetting. The RD07 can is not known to be "very free flowing" so it should work just fine.
I would not worry that the RD07 end can would cause any engine problems.
Just make sure there is no exhaust leaks around the joints, since this might cause a lot of popping/backfire on over run/engine break.

Edit: I'm just back from some quality time in the garage, amongst many things, I removed the silencer on my RD07A.
Ouch, that's one heavy item! I got to either install my ProDuro can, or find some Titanium can.
Here are some exhaust ("Auspuff") from Germay for the RD03:

Ok...thank you all...I'll be start working on that... I'll let you know any news Enrique!
Hello, below was from a previous post...have a look in 'my gallery' for more pics and my other posts for more info on 650 end cans....I've had mine on for a couple of years without touching the carbs and it's more than fine.

Hi, my old standard end can was rotten so I picked up a Scorpian can and link pipe off Ebay for under £50. Any aftermarket cbr600 Can should fit. I would avoid using a standard cbr Can as that would weigh a ton and looks like it is a whole unit.
I bought reducer from here http://motorcycleproducts.co.uk/cata...rs-p-2952.html and plenty of exhaust paste. ... you could possibly make/weld you a shim to make the link pipe connect to the down pipes and save you buying this.
My link pipe was for a Honda CBR600 (not the RR, and not all years, I will send you a pic of the link pipe shape you are looking for) but any link pipe with a small curve in it as you only need around 6 inches of link pipe in total.
When you have the bits all together and the old can removed you will see more clearly how to make it all fit together.
This was the first time I've done an exhaust fabrication, and I'm no mechanic, took a couple of hours.
See Pics in 'My Gallery'.
I've had it on for two MOT's now.
I didn't put it on a rolling road or dyno, but it has run lovely, pulls like a train in all the rev range, been on a few 80+ mile runs and my daily commute and all good.
Good luck with it, keep me up to date and ask if you need any more assistance.
Cheers
