Don't have one but I think the AT looks fab with twin zortsts. Exhibit 1 your honour... This one doesn't look like it has a collector box.

Why bother? added weight and an increase of 100% of damaging the pipe if you have to lay it over!
When I grow up ..... yeah right!
Y'see, I could say "You can go fast, I can go anywhere, Africa Twin" But you buggers have 'em as well so it would sound pretty lame .... oops!
yeh !!!
let alone trying to balance the exhaust back pressure, back in the days of "proddy racing"my mates old Z900 had a custom exhaust and the pipes had all to be the same lenght.
The one in the picture arent as the ycurly under the swing arm.
Equal length of header pipes is more essential if engine uses cams with great overlap. Africa Twin engines have a very mild overlap.
David Vizard have written many interesting books on this subject.
The matter of equal exhaust pipes lengt should not need to prevent you from trying.
Install a set of torque rings, or as they sometimes is refered to: "D"-rings just after the exhaust ports in the beginning of the pipes.
Time to give this thread a bump.
I have searched the forum but could only find this and another topic (Dual Exhaust for Africa Twin) which didn't give me a conclusive answer to the questions I have, so I thought why not try asking again...
I too am looking into making a dual exhaust on my AT RD07.
Who can give me some advice on the following things that came to mind:
1. Do I need smaller end-cans?
I presume that my current Laser Produro end can is optimized for the flow of the 750cc of my cylinders. If I go for two end cans, should I need 2 endcans that are each optimized for the flow of 375cc or would using 2 produros (if I just buy another one) be fine?
2. For the best flow, would it be better to split the pipes in two after the 2-1 collector (so it becomes a 2-1-2 system) or should I run 2 equal length separate pipes, straight from 1 cylinder to 1 silencer?
My reasons for doing this are pure for aesthetics, but if there could be a power gain (or at least no or just a minimal decrease) I would like to take that into account with de design.
Hello!
I would like to know the answer to these two questions to if it is possible. Though I do not own AT yet, dut to local laws preventing me from riding bikes that have more than 35kw(48bhp), i now ride Kawasaki KLE 500 and would like to do twin exhaust just because I like the look of twin pipes on enduro bikes. So if anyone can shine some light on this i would be very gratefull.
Thanks, MadM!
And a pic of my ride, I hope I didn't break any forum rules by posting pics of another bike.

If it's just for cosmetic reasons, why not fit the second end-can and a dummy link pipe, without making any connection to the engine? That way you could avoid spoiling the bike's performance yet still achieve the "look" you desire.![]()
I seem to recall someone doing this and turning the " duff " silencer into a large tool tube
Don't know how it would affect the balance etc![]()
