    road tyre expectations

i've been on tourance for the last year (RD07) - got about 6500 miles out of them, mostly on curvacious roads with plenty of braking. performance seemed fine.
I now need to replace them and would be happy to get Tourance again but, well, sleeping around can be fun too . . . Anybody got any suggestions? Any body got any noticeably better mileage?

Try Michelin Anakee 2 - I have a set fitted and have done a few hundred miles - cant say I noticed a difference yet with the old Anakees I had but the 2 is supposed to give increased mileage with better wet grip.

I have had Tourance in the past and I think I prefer the Anakees - better miles from the old set and a promise of better again on these.

I tour in Europe - Austrian/Italian Alps and also a lot of backroad blasting on a weekend. No real offroad.

Just worked uut I have done 6,800 miles on the tourance on the varadero and they are still good for another couple of thou on the rear and plenty more on the front! Had to do the math again as I thought I had it wrong.'
1,400 of it was fully loaded on this years longest day.
    Not bad me thinks

interesting. some of my wear is due to my riding style - i spent a few thousand pushing the speed round some glorious spanish roads and doing more braking than i would if I weren't trying for it. i'm happy with the tyres but think i'll take up angelo's suggestion of Anakee 2s. cheers.

I hear good stuff about the anakees and was thinking of changing the tourance to these - then saw your post and started thinking how old / used they were and was surprised.
If they are better than tourance will be impressed.

Don't know what miles they are going to do but I've just fitted Dunlops brand new Trail tyres, Trailmax TR91, and they have suberb feel and grip.
