Bike left at home - battery dies

I work away quite a bit, so have to leave the bike in the grudge for about a month at a time. Unless i leave it on a trickle charger, the battery will be dead flat when i get back. is this normal? or am i the only one who has to leave his bike alone for a month stretch??

Change jobs - you are not doing yourself any good by not riding for a month at a time

Actually better still keep the job going, you only live 30 miles or so away, let me look after the bike while you are away I am sure I will beable to keep it topped up for you.

A month should be no problem, . . . unless you have an alarm on it.

Only time i had a problem, . . . it was fixed with a new battery.

There's nothing abnormal about a battery loosing it's charge if the bike is used as little as yours. Stick with the trickle charger but consider putting it on a timer - an hour a day should be more than enough to keep the battery topped up.

Have you got a sat nav on it?

My Garmin mount had corrosion on the copper contacts (green fuzz) which was shorting out just enough to cause the same symptoms.

a quick rub with the edge of a key between the contacts cleaned them up just enough to solve the problem.

As far as Angleo goes, yeah, I've been watching the battery a while, but it's no problem if i'm at home ie it gets used everyday.

As for the sat nav, axe, no, not now. there was one on but i'm a map man meself, so took it off - I like getting lost at times, seem to end up in more trouble that way . . .
