    Motad Venom Exhaust

    Advice needed.
I am fitting a Motad Venom end can and connector pipe to my rd07, however the original exhaust mounting point and new venom mounting bracket don't line up! I know some of you guys have these cans on your bikes, so please give me a bit of advice as to what the best action is.
    cheers

Doesn't the bracket just move along the exhaust to the mounting point? Mine did, just wrapped it round where it needed to be, put an M8 bolt through to keep it off the indicator and away I went.

    Am I missing something?

Hi, I have one fitted. You are right, mine did not line up exactly. I managed to get the link pipe shortened to enhance the fit. Once 'coupled' I just found you had to move all the parts (link, can and bracket) together to get the best fit.
Once on, looks good, sound OK and with a K&N filter I haven't had to adjust the mixture at all, it certainly burns well. Get 45-50mpg.

You can do a couple of things - I have one fitted to mine.

If you twist the link pipe that will change the angle and so the mounting position BUT I modded the bracket by drilling another hole so allowing it to sit a bit higher - mates up a treat and the exhaust is at he right angle. I had to get a longer bolt and fitted a half inch or a bit more space covered in a natty rubber tube to make it look good.

    Re: Motad Venom Exhaust

I'm onto my second Venom can that's needed a link pipe made up to get the can onto the bike. Tried shortening the supplied link pipe without success, so went for a locally manufactured link pipe on both occasions (2 different bikes but both RD07A's).

Not much help I know, just my mutterings.

    Re: Motad Venom Exhaust

I had to cut my link pipe as well.
I used the same bracket onto the frame but I think that the 07 and the 07a silencer mounting to the frame is different no doubt someone will be along to clarify that
Anyway with a little jiggerypokerry, it will fit fine
Just make sure that the top of the silencer pipe is well back enough to miss the indicator stalk.
Oh and make sure the can is symmetrical with the line of the bike

    Hope this helps

    Re: Motad Venom Exhaust

You shouldnt need to cut the link pipe but twisting it at the bottom and then the silencer at the top - by loosening the silencer bracket and swinging it up and a bit of fidling with the silencer strap you can get perfect alignment - the problem will be 2 things - the gap between the strap and the bracket - you need a longer bolt and a spacer. Also the springs will not be perfectly in line but quite acceptable visually.

I have just refitted it today after a trip to Austria as it was popping - turns out it was not exhaust at all but a combination of me using 95 Octane and the altitude with K&N and Motad - all making it a bit on the weak side I suspect.

You don't need much of a gap between silencer and indicator - as long as air can get past it will not fry.

Is your bike an RD04 or an RD07 ? The link pipe is different.. This is how mine fitted to an RD07..
