Airbox to carb rubber seals not sealing

Ok,

I give up how the heck do you get the airbox to carb rubbers seals to seal. I have tried Yen's idea of leaving them loose and just popping them on but they just pop right back off again no matter what tension I set the screw collars to. They appear to be pre-formed to not quite reach to the collars I need them to reach.

I thought of making some kind of retaining latches that I could fit on the screws that hold the plastic seal onto the carb but thought I would ask for some sage advise before breaking out the manufacturing tools.

just did it again half an hour ago! fact is, it is a pain in the but and it took me ages the first time, convinced there must be something wrong, or im a retard. then i figured putting the bolts holding the airbox in place first, seem to do the trick. try it before you waste more energy.
undo the clamps totally
bit of silicone grease helps
put the box in place and do bolts up fingertight
THEN work the rubber over with the help of a flatend screwdriver
i do the far sides first, and when all good, i keep the far side forced as far down as possible with one hand, then do up the clamp with other hand

with the box undone they just keep popping of, so if not yet, try it first
the more we practice, the luckyer you get!
