    Rear wheel bearing seat depths

    Hi,

Does anyone know what the rear wheel bearing seat depth is each side? I may have to get the hub machined and spacers put in, so the depth from the outside edge of the hub to each seat (left and right side)would be much appreciated!! have looked at wider bearings, but this way I can use original sizes, as there's not a lot of choice out there!

    Cheers Stu

Try going to SKF and NSK websites they are bearing manufacturers and will have list of all bearings available or e-mail them with your measurments of the gap you have in the wheel and see what they come back with

I don't know the measurements offhand but you can work it out.

I believe the sprocket side bearing is flush with the hub (remove the cush drive of course). The seat for this bearing must therefore be the depth of the bearing away from the hub surface. The other seat must be the length of the spacer away from that surface so when both bearings are fitted and the axle is tightened, there is no side loading. If you give the hub along with a new spacer and two new bearings to a decent engineer, they should be able to work out how everything goes and fabricate any necessary inserts to repair it. Hubs are not exactly complicated.

Ta for that! The seats are worn both sides, so I had no way of finding either depth as everything was out of position!
