That relay is designed only to cut off the the fuel pumps electrical supply and you mentioned the carbs are spewing with the engine running. High fuel pressure will cause fuel to overflow the carbs. What type of fuel pump are you running?

    Stod still for 7 years?

Were carbs cleaned and emty before standstill?

I suspect there could be "dirt" from old fuel inside the carbs.

Open up the float bowl (4) and check and clean the valve (2).

On your description it could be that the carb is overflowing caused by a leaky bowl camber valve (Or whatever this part is called in English...)

The valve (2) should close when it's pressed uppwards by the float (3) wich in turn is moved by the fuel level inside the bowl (4).

If the valve is not closet properly in the seat due to dirt between the needle and the seat, the carb will overflow with fuel.

It could also be caused by a punctured float, since in that case the float will not follow the fuel level and put pressure on the valve, keeping it open and overflowing the carb.

Also check all fuel lines for any holes due to detoriating, or it could be as simple as a missing fuel line clamp.

I positive that it's not the fuel cut off relay, as that relay stops the fuel pump when the engine stops, and starts when the engine is running.

Fuel pump (3) and fuel lines:

hi thanks for your response, i dont know for sure i think its a stock Honda one. I thought the relay might cut power to the pump when the carbs are full of fuel but because its naff its not stopping the flow, maybe the relay is not for this purpose?. maybe its the carbs that need attention, i just want to ride my bike not molatoff cocktail cheers john.

Sticking fuel float in one or tuther of the carbs, caused by either sticking needle valve or crud.

Strip & clean the carbs, measuring float level to ensure thats correct, re-assemble & ride

PS - disclaimer - never, ever have I touched a RD03, so I could be talking total pants

Hi, might be a novice question, but where can i find "Parts list and fiches" for RD07A, just like the ones shown above for the RD03?

It looks to be a very interesting document

    Regards,
    Luís

Sounds like your universal pump is the wrong type with a different flow
