trip computer mod to show kph

looks neat but anyone know of a catch or problem or even how to do it?

ATiC - Honda Africa Twin Homepage, 10kohm resistor from maplins £0.27p, trim a bit of the excess wire bend & solder with fine tip on soldering iron. Did min last xmas, had it on for 7months,(big satnav now) without a problem. great, because its more in your face rather than looking down at the speedo. REMEMBER not to reset while in kmh mode, though it locks up easy to remedy. Cant believe someones selling this info.. good luck

ok so im not bad at electronic tinkering but anyone got more details on where im going to put this resistor?

i take to reset after a lock up an ignition off on will do it?

follow the link after your initial post.
10mm to the left of the upper left side of that big chip in the middle of the circuit board- Labelled SPD Not the spd+ in the bottom right of the picture. to reset follow instructions at bottom of link page. take your time, dont rush simples, if not handy with an iron, take to electronics guy, 1 minute job.

did it and it doesnt work. just goes through trip1 trip2 and trip - as usual with no 4th option for speed?

double checked joints by heating up again with a bit more solder and the joints are good?

any ideas.

checked resistance at 10 ohms and have continuity between contacts??

its a 2001 bike by the way....

ah..........you all said 10k ohms ive used a 10 ohm resistor.... blast ive wasted 42p on two of them! I'll have to save up for some more ohms

ok guys ive just soldered a wire on to see if it works and save the bother of getting another resistor. It doesnt work so some bikes will and some dont. just thought id let you know before you waste you time...

oh well the joys of fiddling!!
