AT off the road for a bit - subframe TLC????

Like many At's my subframe is a bit rough. Solid but rough. Got to come off the road for a bit (finances) so had a look.

After some thought, I got the drill and wire bruch out and cleaned up a small section, wiped it down and then painted with plain white gloss. Good old fashioned gloss for metal/external. Still drying but looks ok. It is stays looking good am gonna strip whole subframe down and repeat (prob using a decent metal primer)

Not gonna be profesional, or last more than a few years to be honest but if it does - who dares wins!
When I grow up ..... yeah right!

Y'see, I could say "You can go fast, I can go anywhere, Africa Twin" But you buggers have 'em as well so it would sound pretty lame .... oops!

Well - tried a small area but due to how it took, am gonna clean it off and use smoothright (white) as it needs to primer/undercoat and while you can brush off loads of crud, it will go onto rust. That will take place over the next week - will take pics.

No - this is a quick fix for this year - only just put a new engine in - don't fancy that again! But, looking at how well it has taken and problems not with standing I will do the whole frame next year.

In the end I use my dril with some wire brushes - worked a treat - the Hammerite doesn't need primer/undercoat and goes straight onto bare metal and even rust so long as you have removed the loose toot.
