    Dont know what its like your side, most of the garages sell ice over here during the summer, insulater a side pannier, bung in a bag of ice and Bobs a long lost relative.

    no bags of ice in garages not really needed in the old smoke,but took fridge out one long
    day on bm coped really well with the rough stuff and an idea was born,only an idea mind you.

    you can put your beer in a bag, soak it in water, and as that evaporates, it will cool it. not to ice-cold, but certainly cooler than ambient temp.

    more top box really and take the fridge apart and put the internals into the topbox .
    yes i have already done it and it fits just right,the motor sits in the lid and yes it still works.
    but back to the orignal question which was not all about keeping beer cold you all seemed to have forgotten about food.and the alternator.
