Paint code for '96 africa twin frame

    Hi all.

The frame on my AT has some rust spots on it. Not keen to strip and re-paint it, so was thinking of rubbing down and treating the offending spots, then touching them up with either a brush or spray paint. Any ideas what the silver colour paint code is for the frame, or if anyone has any other suggestions.

    Cheers
    Shane

Hammerite "smooth silver" is a pretty reasonable match. For touching up around brackets etc., you can barely notice it.

Larger areas are noticeable, but more because of the delightful finish you get with Hammerite and a brush, than because of the colour. Letting it dry really hard (at least a few days) and T-Cutting a bit helps. A good covering of mud splatters is better.

(If they made mud colored waxoyl, we'd be sorted...)

Got to agree, Hamerite smooth dose the job well and is a good match, check under the rear mud guard and the front of the frame, seem to be the worst areas.

That's out of sight, so I use Waxoyl there. Also on the frame rails under the bash plate, and the entral front frame rail under the excellent Rugged Roads front engine guard. Oh, and if the hidden areas under the front and rear pillion peg hangers.
