    rattle

Just recentley bought a 03 africa twin, I have noticed that when starting from cold as soon as I pull in the clutch lever I get some rattling down in the clutch housing, this noise goes away when everything is warmed up, is this normal for an africa twin?

    Short answer...yes
Not sure of the technical reasons why, it just does.

So my bike isn't the only one!!.I've had my bike ('98 xrv750) for over two years now and this has had me worried that the engine is about to go bang . Thank you for allowing me to sleep at night .

This weird rattle is normal, I was asked the same question when my AT was new, it goes away when the oil circulates around the engine.

It's quite comforting to see others experiencing this rattle, as I was really puzzled by it. In fact, I thought it was caused by some minor slack in the cam chain...
I brought my @ from Greece, where it never had this rattle, or at least it wasn't so noticeable. So it must be a weather/temperature thing..
