My Touratech single seat is a lot lower than standard. I believe that the double (cheaper) version has the same front part. pricey though.

I had mine modified by Melvin Hunter in Coventry. The seat is now lower and flatter and has a gel insert - a vast improvement over the stock seat. Cost was £170.

I and quite a few others had ours changed by GA Wells & Son in Shepshed.

£15 to do this.... yes that's right £15!!!
And they do it while you wait.

I have the Touratech dual seat. Mine actually seems slightly higher than standard seat as this was so soft when sitting on the bike it sank to a lower level (I'm only 13st. honest!)

The touratech seat seems quite hard a first, but on long trips is alot more comfortable.

    Bloody seat !

Hey everyone, Im new here, and have just purchased my first XRV 750 Africa Twin (2003). Loverly bike, bloody awful seat!.

I would like a seat similar to the F650 or GS1150 BMW. does anyone know of anyone that offers such an item ?

Failing that, I think a trip to Shepshed is in order with my £15 for a re-trim. (I dont want to lower the seat height, if anything, an extra inch would be good) .. of and a little extra width would ease the growing pain in my arse!

    any suggestions greatly appreciated

    Jason

I have a "step seat" made by P&P seating in birmingham that I had made for use when 2-up touring. I still use the std seat when riding alone (but prefer the harder TTech seat). The cost of the P&P seat was £113 plus you have to supply them with a seat to modify. It is great 2-up as my wife can now see over my shoulders, and dosent slide forward under heavy breaking, squashing me knackers against the tank.

Can send a photo if you want (of the seat - not of me getting squashed against the tank!)

If you send any images to me at dave@slaterz.co.uk or admin@xrv.org.uk I will host them on the site and provide you with a link.
    That goes for anyone.
I haven't got round to building an image upload facility yet.
