    tax disc holder

Just got an Oxford tax disc holder and struggled to find a good place to attach it. My @'s previous owner said that he used to use one of the two chain guard bolts but when I tried to do that it wouldn't work. Seems the holder's too thick and so the threads don't get enough grip. Think I may have stripped the threads now...
Ended up placing it on one of the top bolts of the heat guard on the end-can just up from the right side pillion foot peg. Unusual place I thought as the disc now faces upwards. Hope the disc holder is waterproof and heatproof....
Where have you guys placed yours?

Mines at the rear on the last bolt holding the chain guard on.
I think I replaced the bolt.

Under the seat, sealed. If the coppers stop you the are pretty understanding if you explain that it has been stolen before like they do in London. Never had any problems before as long as you are nice and polite

    Thanks all!
Dave, do you remember where you might have got the bolt from? Is it a B&Q job or a bike shop spare part job?
    Cheers!

    In the cockpit

I have mine mounted in the cockpit. The holder is sandwiched between the fairing frame and those little rubber nuts that hold the fairing to the bike. No extra bolts needed, and it even stays in place when you take the screen or fairing off.

    Hi Iain,

I second your placement, although I think the left hand side it better That's just because in mycase I have a power socket on the RHS. One can also mount the disk holder under the support brace for even better protection from the elements (and the Police/Gardai that would like to check if it is still on date).

    Edit: typo

Umm I have loads of bolts of various lengths.
As you're in Bristol come for a ride down to Weston and I'll find one for you.
    Cheers
    Dave.

Same here. Mine was on the front of the bike, but It was nicked this week whilst in the city. I had a chat to the good old Boys in Blue and they advised me to either keep it in my wallet and produce it if queried or under the seat...

When the new one comes, im goign to laminate it and keep it under the seat.
