    Tick Over??

Ok - should be an easy one, this ... couldn't find the data in my manual, so thought I'd get a consensus ....

What revs do you folks set your tick over to? Or is it just a case of finding the point at which the engine is smooth?

    Ta.

When mine is running properly it ticks over at exactly 1000rpm. On a hot day with the engine fully warmed that will increase to about 1100

If I remember correctly the Haynes manual recommends 1200rpm, which is what I set mine to. Unlike Abingdon Motorcycles - when it came back from it's 12k service it was ticking over at 1800!

Thanks. Got mine sitting at about 1500 rpm at the moment, but I'll see if it's happier a little lower down the rev range.
