    RD04/07 Panniers Interchangeable?

Probably been asked before but I can't find any info' about this.

Are RD07 panniers interchangeable with the RD04?

Where can I get Panniers for an RD04? I can get RD07 panniers no probs' but can't find anything for the RD04.

    Advice appreciated, thanks.

Miggy, it ain't the panniers that are the problem it's the frame that carries them. For example the Touratech site only lists a frame for the RD07, not the RD04. The Givi website lists the Wingrack system for Africa Twins starting in '93, which I guess is the first RD07s.

You might have to get hold of some Zega boxes from Touratech and then get someone like Ernie at Overland Solutions to custom make you a frame.

I had Givi panniers on my RD04 in 1997 so there used to be a fitting kit for the side frames. I remember one part bolted over the top of the rear rack. I'd try advertising for somebody's old fitting kit. It's only a few tubes and some bolts.

    Cheers geezers.

I was of course refering to the carriers being interchangable not the actual panniers which I know can fit more or less anything.

Anyway thanks for the links and info' which seems to indicate that Givi at least have something. I'll check 'em out. As it happens I already have a Kappa topbox.
