Anyone got a flywheel bolt removal tool?

    Hi,

I think I've worked out why my RD04-RD07 transplant isn't successful ... the flywheels have their contact points in different places (the RD04 has 2 opposed to each other, whereas the 07 has several) - hopefully this will explain the lack of ignition.

Therefore, I need to remove the flywheel, but as usual, I can't begin to shift the bolt, despite putting the engine in gear and reversing it into a wall (yes, I know that it's a reverse thread).

So, does anyone have a flywheel bolt removal tool that I could beg or borrow?

    Much appreciated.

    Thanks.

To remove the bolt I just wrapped a couple of turns round the flywheel with some webbing then tightened it up on the bit sticking out of the centerstand I used a ratchet as used to tie down boats to their trailer but I am sure any trucker has something similar. The flywheel came (flying) off with a sturdy puller and a couple of taps with a big hammer.

Sometimes the rear axle is the correct thread to remove the flywheel. Worth a look, it's worked for me on 2 bikes so far.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/34,000 miles ridden (of 57,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

As i'm in need of a removal tool the info i've found so far is its an M22 x 1.5P thread...not so easy to find. WWW.PITPOSSE.COM in the USA can help.
