    Digital Trip Problem

Quite simply it's not working, no signs of life at all. This is on a 1992 AF that I've just got (the previous owner isn't available to ask at present) so....

Where's the fuse for it? Is there one? Is there some switch that I don't know about? Oh yeah, it's originally an Italian model. The previous owner is in the forces and has imported it so I assume that it will read in Kilometres when/if working, right?

    The bike is otherwise great.

Mine died when one of the wires into the block connector behind the pod, corroded and separated. Remove the tripmeter and check all the connections. I would imagine it doesn't have it's own fuse but shares it with other items which you would have noticed not working.

No need to open it. Pop the screen off the fairing and you'll see two 10mm domed nuts holding the trip meter onto the bike. Once you've removed these, you can lift the trip meter up a little and expose a line of block connectors. One of these is the trip meter supply and it's here that all that nasty roadsalt gets in to the block terminals and makes them break off.

It's worth checking out all the adjacent block connectors whilst you can see them, to see if any of the others are affected.

The connectors are ok, 12V coming thro'. I also opened it up and get 12V at the circuit board at the soldering points so how come there's no display whatever.

Maybe the LCD display is knackered? (I'm assuming that I'll get a display with just the ignition switched on right.)
