Anyway, I have done some diagnostics. There is power at the fuse box as usual, but there is NO power at the handlebar switch. So the problem lies somewhere inbetween. I can just barely see a bunch of connectors under the air filter box, and at least one of them seems loose. I am currently trying to remove the tank to investigate this further.

A small bonus though: I completely fixed my laggy signal lights with some oxide removal spray. Oh boy did that work well!
We are all here to help and sometimes we have to ask questions to the person with the problem in order for them
to help themselves. I asked if you had a wiring diagram/haynes in which you never responded. If you don't have one...just say so.
Wires are color coded and with this type of snag we are more able to help you with a diagram as we can't see your loom...but we can
see the wiring diagram in front of us.
Did you check the right circuit on the fuse box? Headlite is the 'B' circuit and you should see a 20 amp fuse with 12 volts (green/white wire)
Your model came with headlight relays from what I can see and without them or not even knowing what model of loom you have you will
have to physically trace the wires and check for continuity and voltage as req'd. Or....start over and install a new syatem as BobA suggested.
I'll say it again...a manual is good to have for basic stuff on this bike. It also clearly tells you how to take the gas tank off. I suggest you get one. I'm
    outa here.

@GSPD750: You are absolutely right, I should get a manual, and I will try my best to acquire one as soon as possible. The issue with my headlights seems to have been solved, nonetheless. It was the connected under the air filter box. I will watch her closely throughout this season and keep servicing that connection from here on out just to make sure. Have the lights go dark in one of the numerous norwegian tunnels is dangerous to say the least.

Again, thanks for all your help guys. I will study the manual first next time (:
