Rally Replica Build (or should this be Johm_aero copies Stormforce)

Ok so start this off today,

I have bit the bullet, maxed out the credit card again for 3rd time this year, my wife is readly kill me but the bike is now being stripped down.

1st Question - What colour is the red on the honda bikes? i want keep original colours and will be ordering the matching decals so the tank will not be touched.

    Plan of action.

Remove fairings and dash, being sent to fellow member ere for use on his bike.

The front wheel is being kept.

Fit a pair fo Yamaha motocross forks of a yz125 (used these on a bmw dakar rally bike)

Machine up any spacers or stems required to get forks to fit the honda head stock.

    Machine a new ignition mount.

Machine new axel to accomidate @ wheel in yz forks.

Next be the calliper hangars, these will be either be easy or a right bitch to do. I have 2 left legs (1 is wrecked so i am hoping to salvage the hangar and re fit it onto the good leg thus keeping 2 disks.) If anyone knows how to remove these cast section soff the fork stamchions please tell me.

After picking up a rally fairing off ebay that a lad didnt want so have mak up a new fairing support for the dash and fairing.

Also have look getting headlights sorted an what to go for. lad who has sold fairing said may have light some where and i will email me if finds it.

Dash is a Koso XR SR. XR SR Multi-function

Hope save up over the next year and buy a nitron shock as recommended by rugged roads, aka stormforce here.

All going well i will have a rally bike front end for less than the cost of a full WP fork setup alone.

Could go well or go tits up.

Love fit a roadbook but funds are tight so that will be down the line.

Any help or questions please ask. as the work goes on i will post pics and updates.

    John

    This MAY help.

I matched these colours to a swatch book they had in Halfords, but I am not 100% sure they are accurate as the colours on some of my panels have either faded or there is slight variance in them.

Not noted on the panel, I think the dark blue MAY be PB-127, Aleution Blue.

hahaha have you mad eyoru mind up????

Well there wont be a direct red to red match on the tank, the fairing will be matching up with red decals on a white tank so at present them are not 100% match so as long as they are close enough i will be happy.

well it will be a very very slow build. my credit card currently has more numbers in it for the last 3 months than my account has so its bit by bit over the next while.

but i hope get fairing and forks so that be the most work as rest like lights and dash will be bolt on jobs
