Am intending to change front fork oil as bike is currently very soft up front. Looking at a 10 wt med fork oil. Will 1 litre be enough ?
Any other suggestions ?

You need 648 cc for each leg (standard is 5W), or 635 on '90-92 models, provided you get all old oil out.
If your bike has done quite a few miles I'd take the whole thing apart, check the bushes (the teflon on the slider is usually completely gone) and replace the seals and dust rings. I was a bit uncertain but it turned out quite easy to do.
Bike has only 4000m on it so any replacement parts should be unnecessary. Thanks for advice !

You say it is not too difficult? Just open the buggers and see what happens?

Had exactly the same feelings (I think it is rated a "four-out-of-five-spanner" jobby in Haynes) but it turned out to be quite a straightforward procedure. I have had bigger adventures with 3-spanner jobs like replacing the clutchOriginally Posted by africatijn
. Just make sure to use a torque wrench, esp when you put the legs back into the yokes. Oh yes, and screw back the filler caps at the top of the legs before you tighten the top-yoke bolts, the legs are so thin they deform easily
