    British Bike Culture.

One thing I have noticed since swapping over to my@ is that on my daily 25mile each way commute to work. The other 2 dozen bikers passing the other way 90% ignore me, rather than nod like crazy when I was on my vfr,R1. etc. well Piss off you shallow minded gits! The same applies when I turn up at Matlock Bath (my local meet) the same happens then, old passing nods have stopped.
Oh well let those Kwaki riding toxic tree frogs have their way, after all if they found out the joys of the @ there wouldn't be enough of them to go round!
In the rest of Europe this narrow mindedness does not exist. In fact if you go to France, Germany etc. on your @ or simular, your the doggys plumbs!
Made a mate of mine laugh last weekend. We went for a jolly round the Peak District (home) & cat n Fiddle. He was stopping for fuel at 81 miles !!
It was then I told him at a push I could do that on reserve, never mind the main tank. He then had a spin on my @. Now he's on about swapping his Firestorm for an @. Supprise, suprise. another convert!!

Regular thing to be ignored mate.
Years ago people acknowledged you for being another biker, now you'll only generally get acknowledgement for the bike you ride from your own peer group.
Obviously that doesn't apply to Beemer owners though....they tend to only want to mix with their kind!

I must say I don't experience that down here in the west.
I nod to everyone and pretty much everyone nods back.
It gets a bit challenging in Bristol city centre trying to nod and negotiate traffic as filtering requires full concentration.
I regularly see R1's, GSX1000's and other race reps that nod and even wave back.

Funny, almost every day I come past this Harley dude on my way to work. It's not one of those life-styles chasers but a serious rider, I see him all year round. When I am on the Buell he greets, when I am on the AT he doesn't. I always wear the same outfit and open face helmet, and being 6"5 tall is another give-away that could tell him it is always me (hardly ever see other bikes on this track).

Conclusion: some people greet bikes, not the people that ride them.

Otherwise, like DaveS, I hardly ever notice brand-related nodding here in the South West. Only friendly people around here.

Don't confuse bike nodding with the well documented West Country nervous twitch Rob!

Hi Chris I nod or wave to everone much to the annoyance of a work mate " he,s one of lifes no nod or wave types" If other riders dont wave or nod it,s their loss not mine . Not wanting to stereotype groups of bikes/riders but i have found that the most of non nodders/wavers seem to be from Goldwing and Harley following,If they dont nod/wave who cares i know i dont their loss not mine.fw600vj

Worst ones are the street fighters I used to love em now that they are common place in the media people just go out and buy em hardly anyone builds there own And kawasaki have a factoryish one
As far as people waveing go's I couldnt give a t##s any more my bike is out all year not just when the sun shines so b##ls to em I say.
Besides we all know why we ride at's cos there ace reliable practical and bloody good fun!

If you get sick off nobody nodding back, just do the biggest, campest wave you can manage at the next bike that comes along, whilst shouting cooee in a loud voice. Don't do it on your home turf though!! It is strangely satisfying......
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/34,000 miles ridden (of 57,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!
