Got my 2nd set for my 1999 RD07 from local dealer M&S Newcastle, had to wait 10 weeks for them, about £80. The first set got wiped out in a crash. They saved the area were they cover and with a Bagalux tank harness saved the tank. Got the first set from M&P.
I had a set on a RD04 and the quality was poor, cracking due to vibration. The problem with the early ones were having to bend them to get the holes to line up and this put them under stress.
The later bars are better quality and have bigger webs. The down side is access to removal of bash plate for filter change.

Hi Muckybill do you know the model number for the bars , so that i can order the correct bars.fw600vj![]()
Hi fw600vj
I don't have the model number from mine but just had a look at Motad site www.motad.co.uk/range/fullrange.html. They don't list X model year only v/w/y but this part number should fit B72H3. I don't think there was any change to the frame from '98'to'99.
Good luck.

Hi Muckybill Thanks again for the info i will try and get them ordered this week, I was cleaning the bike after a run today and noticed a bracket on the front downtube. It has two lugs with a hole in each lug , about 1/4 of an inch higher than the bottom of the radiator grill.Would this be from motad bars by any chance .fw600vj![]()
Hello fw600vj
If it goes round the back of the down tube it sounds like a Motad one. The top of each bar will bolt to this, the bottom bolts through the front holes of the bash plate with longer bolts in fitting kit and the rear uses the engine to frame through bolt. They are great for putting your feet up on motorways and usefell for pulling bike onto centre stand

Thanks again Muckybill for the info![]()
