Mirror-mirror on the wa.. erm, AT

    Hello,
Not the most exciting thread of the month I am afraid but I need new mirrors and want to go the cheap / universal route instead of splashing out for the expensive-quickly-rusting-originals. Does anyone know if the AT has 8 or 10 mm threads? (or even different).
    Thanks!

I have to say that in all of the bikes I've owned and ridded so far - the AT's mirrors rate amongst the best - blur free rear vision at all speeds. The only other bike that, in my limited experience, came close was a Harley Sportster. Summat to do with V twins obviously

No help on the thread size though.

    Thanks anyway.
Sportster mirrors hey? Hmm, the ones on my Buell are remarkably stable und blurr-free too, but unfortunately the only view-options are my shoulders or anything that is right next to me.
I am sure the Honda mirrors are great, but they have been replaced already by a previous owner with shiny ones taken from a Kawasaki cruiser , and those position themselves according to the wind at 50 mph and above which makes them slightly useless. I have bolted them down a few times but they have run out of adjustment.

Right then: Honda uses 10 mm thread. I have bought NX Dominator look-alike mirrors from M and P for £ 12.99 each. Not sure about the quality so I may regret it, but I am a bit low on pennies at the moment so it will have to do for now

I can't tell unfortunately: For the 3rd time in a row M&P managed to let me wait 2.5 weeks with no life-signs, rang them up myself, just to hear the mirrors were discontinued. Last time I ever try to buy from them, M&P is pretty useless imho.

In the end I dissected the old mirrors and managed to give them back some of their original rigidity and shine. They have lost some adjustment-features in this process but it is good enough for now
