    Wind

Took the Bike to work yesterday, What a mistake....

Riding back down the M3 last night, ended up following a HGV at 50 mph in the inside lane. it was absolutly terrible. At one point, im in Lane2, leaning into a sweeping bend as the M3 meets the A303, when a gust of wind helps me across intothe other lane. The top box didnt help, im just glad I didnt have side panniers fitted too.
Needless to say, the bike has been washed, oiled, and is now in teh garage until the weather gets a little better.

What sort of wind speed have you been having down there?

AT seems to be fine up to wind speed of about 25mph (40km/h), but by about 35mph (56km/h) it's getting nasty. Bearing in mind you typically get gusts of 1.5 - 2 times the posted wind speed in stormy weather.

You know it's going to be a bit of a rough ride when you can't climb onto the bike whilst facing windward

    For weather try
http://ukie.accuweather.com/adcbin/ukie/index.asp, it will tell you wind speeds, and if you give it a post code you can get a local, hour by hour forecast.

It's probably no more accurate than anywhere else, but at least it's better than the bl**dy BBC who think we're all so dumb that we can't understand a weather map with wind speed symbols on it!

Have to get the ****ron out in gale force winds the AT has the profile of a block of flats from the side you could stick it to a wind turbine and power wales! 2 or 3 houses I think

the tall screen made a big differnce, just squatted down behind it, and concentrated.

Last night has to have been the worst bikeing experience of my life so far.

Erm, I really think you should let the dog off the bike if it has to pee.
