    12v Sockets

Ok, just thought I'd share this with anyone who's looking for one of these.

I trawled through loads of websites looking for a surface mounted socket - not difficult to find, but everywhere was wanting to charge £4 minimum for postage, which for a £4 or £5 item I thought was rather steep.

Anyway, I eventually found http://www.wilmond.co.uk who had the socket for £4.91. They only charge 75p for First Class Postage, so the whole lot including VAT came to £6.65.

I ordered it at about 2.30pm on Friday and it arrived in the post at 8.30am Saturday morning...Sweet!

There's no image of it on the website (I emailed them a picture to make sure it was the one I wanted) but if you search for Surface Mounted Socket then Robert's your mothers brother as they say.

Now if it'd just stop snowing I might be able to fit it today!

Cheers Robster! The bike is looking fine too!

Was it easy to fit and where did you connect it to?

Urrr it's not hooked up yet, it started raining! I had to retire to the lounge and watch the Rugby

I'm going to mount it on the side of the warning light box and just hook it straight up to the battery with an inline fuse in the middle. From previous posts that seems to be a popular method as then you can use the socket to charge the battery too. Not quite sure how that works...perhaps someone can enlighten me!

Hopefully should get it all hooked up tomorrow if the weathers a bit better.
