    Rear Brake Disc Protector thingy...

You know the little semi-circular plastic bit that protects the rear brake disc? Well, I have a shiny metal one that I want to replace it with....how the hell do you get to that bolt thats behind the swingarm?! Or have I missed something blindingly obvious as usual!

Remove the backwheel from the swingarm. This way you can get to it easy

Just mark the two ribbed chaintension plates (to put them back in the correct position), remember the rest of the washers/spacers. Loosen the bolt on the lefthandside, remove the bolt of the brake to pull back the brake, remove the rear axle... and bob's your uncle. Installation is exactly the other way round.

So, now no more excuses about fear...

    Take your pick...

    1. The wheel bearings fall out in many, many pieces.
    2. The axle is bent and you lose the spacers, or forget which ones go where.
3a. The bike falls off its centre stand and crashes onto your TVR (one for Mr. Vaughan there.)
3b. The bike falls off its centre stand and crashes onto your nuts.
    4. The wheel rim collapses into a pile of aluminium oxide dust as you manouver it out of the swingarm (probably the most likely scenario).

    Well, you did ask!
