    rd03 tick-over

hi just put my bike in the garage and noticed that the tick-over was low,VERY low almost stalling,

question.....is the tick-over adjuster meant to have a spring on it? as i found a spring on the floor near the bike and the tick-over adjuster was nestling near the coolant expansion bottle near the sump guard.

Which proberbly explains the very low tick-over and it also kept staling a couple of times but i thought it was because it was cold.

    any info is welcome

Yes, there is a spring on that fits over the thread of the adjuster.

You probably can balance carbs by ear - more easily achieved on a twin than a four I imagine.

Not sure coughing and spluttering sounds like a balance problem though. Was it running fine before? What have you been doing with it?
