    Which exhaust ???

Hi all, I have a horrible feeling I'm about to ask a question with a thousand views but here goes..

I will soon be in need of a new exhaust system, I would like one that MUST have a great sound, possibly improves output, probably street legal. Any ideas? plus rough price and if its easy or hard to fit.
    thanks

Personally I wouldn't got for aluminium now. Its cheaper but more difficult to keep in good condition. I'd go for Titanium or Stainless if I had my time again.
I'd recommend the Remus GrandPrix, although I'm tempted by the Revolution as you can swap between being road legal and not.

Well, as it happens, I am now in desperate need of a new exhaust – my end cap, pipes and all the baffle filling shot out at about 80mph on the 217 this morning. Not to mention the embarrassment of having to ride the rest of the journey sounding like a rusty steam train I have a massive trip planned in less than two months – so this discussion couldn't be more topical to me.

Anyone any cheap solutions or easy fixes?

Baring in mind that I'm a complete novice at any of this motorcycle maintainance I will also be looking for the simplest option too

I can recommend Arrow cans - they seem to be really well made in stainless steel. Fit's really well, everythng lines up, etc. Sounds OK - not that much louder than stock (but there's a bit you can remove that makes it louder), and less than half the weight of the standard system.

I was lucky and picked mine up off ebay. If you use the site search facility and type in Arrow, you'll get quite a few threads.

I fitted an Arrow silencer and K&N filter for me the main point in fitting an after market can is the weight saving you really do notice it.
Don't know if anyone agrees but I think I prefer the smoother feel of the standard setup.

I put Remus Grand Prix on. Measley 2HP and 3-4LbFt increase in figures on the dyno.

Straight swap mind with no need for any carb adjustments.

The "Not for road use" stamp polished off in 10 seconds very easily and sailed MOT 2 weeks ago.

    Sounds quite fruity.

For some reason my exhaust is so quiet I could ride through a field of sleeping dogs and not one would raise their head!

Which are the lightest and sound cool? 'cos if there's not much gain in power.. then what for?

From other posts I gather the best way to make the most of a freely flowing can is to k+n and dynojet!

Plus... which ones can (or can't) be fitted with touratech panniers?
